WELCOME TO HOP RIVER RADIO CLUB
Hop River Radio Club (K1HRR) is an ARRL affiliated radio club dedicated to public service and promotion of amateur radio.
What’s Our Story?
Hop River Radio Club (K1HRR) was formed in Andover, CT in September 2015 when several local HAMs decided a local area amateur radio club could help boost interest in the hobby and provide a central meeting place to talk about and play with radios.
Former President Mike Donnelly, K1DIQ graciously provided the use of his antique 1700's guest house as the meeting place for K1HRR. In the fall of 2016, the foundation for the club tower was poured, and after many months of work and countless donations to the club by club members and other amateur radio operators in the community, the station went live on the air in July 2017, making its first DX contacts from Spain and Costa Rica!
